Keep your Azure bill predictable with cost management.
Cloud cost surprises are avoidable. We show you where your Azure money goes, remove waste, apply discounts that suit your usage and review the bill every month.

What Azure Cost Management covers
What is Azure Cost Management?
Azure charges for what you use: compute by the second, storage by the gigabyte, data transfer and many services by their own measures. That flexibility is useful, but it means a forgotten server or oversized database quietly costs money every day.
Cost management is the practice of seeing, controlling and optimizing that spend. In the industry it is often called FinOps. In Azure it combines built in tools, good design and regular review.
The aim is not simply to spend less. It is to spend deliberately, so every dollar is tied to a business need and no one is surprised by the invoice.
Azure Cost Management lets you analyze spend by resource, resource group, tag and service, set budgets with alerts, and export data for reporting. Azure Advisor adds recommendations for idle and underused resources.
The biggest savings usually come from three places: right sizing machines and databases to real usage, switching off what is not needed, and committing to discounts for steady workloads through reservations and savings plans.
What Azure Cost Management can do.
Cost analysis
Break down spend by service, resource group, tag and time to see where the money goes.
Budgets and alerts
Set limits and get notified when spend nears them, with optional automated actions.
Anomaly detection
Spot unexpected spikes in cost early.
Azure Advisor recommendations
Idle resources, oversized VMs and better options, ranked by savings.
Reservations and savings plans
Commit for one or three years on steady workloads for significant discounts.
Azure Hybrid Benefit
Use existing Windows Server and SQL Server licences with Software Assurance to reduce rates.
Auto shutdown and scaling
Switch development resources off after hours and scale with demand.
Tags and reporting
Assign cost to departments, clients and projects.
How Azure Cost Management works.
Measure
Review current spend, tags and trends.
Reduce
Remove idle resources and right size what remains.
Commit
Apply reservations and Hybrid Benefit where usage is steady.
Govern
Set budgets, alerts and a monthly review.
What happens behind the scenes.
We start by exporting usage and cost data and grouping it by workload. Metrics for CPU, memory and disk show which resources are oversized, and which ones are idle. Each recommendation is checked against the business before any change.
Steady workloads, such as production servers and databases, are candidates for reservations. Variable workloads are better on pay as you go with autoscale. Budgets and alerts watch the whole picture, and a monthly review keeps decisions current as the business changes.
How it benefits your business.
The direct impact is lower and more predictable Azure bills. Businesses often find that a meaningful share of their spend is waste, such as unused disks, always on test machines and oversized servers.
The indirect impact is confidence. When leaders can see what each department or project costs, cloud decisions become business decisions, not guesses. That makes it easier to approve the next project.
It also protects the budget. Alerts catch a runaway resource, a misconfigured service or a compromised account running up charges before the month ends.

Pricing: Cost Management tools in Azure are available at no extra charge for Azure subscriptions. Savings come from design choices such as rightsizing and reservations. Azure prices and features change, so we confirm current pricing and design to a budget before you commit.
What this looks like day to day.
A business’s Azure bill has doubled in a year. Infinity finds six unused servers, three oversized virtual machines, premium disks on test systems and no use of Hybrid Benefit. After cleanup, rightsizing and a three year reservation for production servers, the monthly bill falls by about a third, and budgets with alerts keep it there.
This is an illustrative example of how the service is used, not a description of a specific client.
Mistakes we see, and how we avoid them.
Reserving before right sizing
Committing to the wrong size locks in waste. Right size first.
No tagging
Without tags, cost cannot be allocated. Introduce standards early.
Looking only at the invoice total
Trends and anomalies appear in the detail, not the total.
Treating it as a one time project
Usage changes. Review monthly or quarterly.

Learn moreWhy is our Azure bill so high?
Common causes are oversized servers, resources left running, premium storage where it is not needed and no commitment discounts. A review finds them.
Can you guarantee savings?
We cannot promise a number without seeing your environment, but most reviews identify meaningful savings. We report what we find before we change anything.
What is Azure Hybrid Benefit?
A licensing benefit that lets you apply eligible Windows Server and SQL Server licences with Software Assurance to Azure, lowering the price.
Are reservations risky?
They lower the price in return for a one or three year commitment. We recommend them only for stable workloads, after right sizing.
Can we see cost by department or client?
Yes, with a tagging standard and reporting, which we help you set up.
